The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind, The Story of William Kamkwamba
| September 24th, 2010I stumbled upon this via @Mashable. What a fantastic story. This really inspired me. It is about Wiliam Kamkwama. A boy from Zambia who decided to build his own windmill for the village he lived in. He started when he was 14 year old. He read a book about windmills but the book did not explain how to do it so he figured it out by himself. At the age of 20 he was invited to the US and now enrolled in the young african leadership academy in South-Africa. This is a true example of be the change you want to see in the world, against all odds believing in you dream an going for it. This boy can learn us a lot! He also says ” A lot of people want to use Internet technology but most people do not have electricity.” Enjoy this clip. And read more about his remarkable story on his blog or support his work through the movingwindmills organisation. Or support his work by buying his book.
