How Castor Got Lost
| June 28th, 2010After a lot of work the book created by my mother is finally finished. How Castor Got Lost is a story of a cat which takes place on Bonaire. During Castor’s adventure he walks through beautiful landscapes and meets animals unique to this beautiful island.
This book is written for children and illustrated with paintings which show the beauty of Bonaire in a unique way.
The book is unique because next to Dutch and English it also includes a Papiamento translation and to my knowledge there are not a lot of children books written in Papiamento. Papiamento is the official and most widely spoken language on the Caribbean islands of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao (the so-called ABC islands). Papiamento is also spoken on the island of Sint Eustatius. Papiamento is a creole language derived from the Portuguese language with vocabulary influences from African languages, English, and Arawak native languages.
The first batched is ordered which will be shipped to Bonaire since blurb does not ship directly to the island. For all the well connected internet nations can order the book online here. Somewhere in August an event will be organized on Bonaire to officially launch the book there. More information about that will be posted on the website http://www.bonbuki.com
