There are a number of people skeptical about the amount of soul, emotions and thought we, humans, attribute to animals. If you’re amongst them you should check out the amazing reunion with a gorilla after 5 years living in the wild with the man who raised him. Animals (and not just ape species) are very much capable of having complex emotions, long term memory, love and being able to express it. And as Stephen Messenger from TreeHugger so beautifully writes “for a moment whatever abstract line that separates the animal and human world is blurred.”
